Radio Frequency Authorization Request Forms
|
RFA Request Status
|
Cells phones, "two way" pagers, and wireless mice/keyboards are authorized as a station class
and do not require individual RFAs.
- FCC Licensed Users
All FCC licensed users including construction contractors, paging, cellular telephone, and PCS providers. Exception - FCC licensed users participating in Public Affairs sponsored events (especially Shuttle launch and landing) should use the Public Affairs form.
- Inmarsat Terminals
RFAs are no longer required for Inmarsat terminals (except Inmarsat D+). Users should work directly with service providers to activate their terminals. For D+ terminals, contact Steve Schindler (321-867-2520) for additional information. Note that a RF link between the user and the terminal (i.e. a remote input to the terminal) does require the appropriate RFA.

- Nonlicensed FCC Part 15 Devices

- Wireless devices operating in the 5 GHz band must use center frequencies at or below 5320 MHz (channel 64) or at or above 5810 MHz (channel 162).
- Users do not have to request individual RFAs but should verify that the device has a valid FCC ID. If the device does not have a FCC ID or if the ID cannot be verified, contact Steve Schindler (321-867-2520).
